Spider Milkweed is an herbaceous perennial in the dogbane (Apocynaceae) family native to the central and east central United States. It is found in calcareous hammocks, dry woodlands, pine rocklands, and prairies.

Requires a sunny, well-drained spot and prefers soil with a neutral pH.

It is best in naturalized areas, meadows, prairies, or drought-tolerant plantings. If there isn’t too much competition from other plants, consider green antelope horn for butterfly and pollinator gardens or in a border.

Host plant for the Monarch Butterfly and other Lepidoptera.  Deer and Rabbit Resistant!!
