Fox Sedge-is a resilient sedge for wetlands and disturbed sites. This species prospers in sun or partial shade. Moist soil is preferred, but plants will tolerate average soils, drought and wet sites. Fox Sedge grows in lovely mounds of arching glossy foliage. Plants gradually form small colonies from short underground rhizomes. Foliage is fine textured and light green. This Sedge is valuable for wetland restoration and erosion control in bioswales and ditches and helps retain water that is flowing across your landscape.

This sedge provides habitat and cover for wildlife.

Host plant for several Skipper butterflies.
