Carex laxiculmis 'Hobb', commonly sold under the trade name Bunny Blue®, is a low-growing, evergreen native sedge cultivar celebrated for its striking, wide, silvery-blue foliage.

Originally collected by Bob Head of Head Ornamentals in South Carolina, this neat, well-mannered ornamental grass-like perennial adds intense texture and cool-toned color to shady spots.

It forms dense, tidy, rounded mounds featuring distinctively wide, glaucous metallic-blue leaves. Though it produces small, insignificant yellowish flowers in late spring, it is grown primarily for its decorative foliage.

This sedge grows 6-12" tall with a slow-spreading, clumping habit that reaches a spread of 12-18".  It prefers average to rich, humus-dense soils that stay evenly moist but well-drained. It handles wet soil beautifully, though the ground should not be allowed to dry out completely during hot summer spells.Hardiness:

Highly resilient across USDA Hardiness Zones 5–9 (and down to zone 4 in optimal conditions). It remains evergreen or semi-evergreen in most climates.
