Ilex vomitoria 'Schilling's Dwarf' (commonly known as Schilling's Dwarf Yaupon Holly) is a popular, low-maintenance evergreen shrub native to the southeastern United States. It is widely celebrated in landscaping as a hardy, native alternative to traditional boxwoods due to its naturally symmetrical, mounded shape and dense gray-green foliage.

This is a slow-growing, compact, male cultivar. Because it is male, it produces inconspicuous spring flowers but will not produce red berries, ensuring a clean look free of fallen fruit debris. New foliage often emerges with a slight reddish or bronze tint.

Typically grows 2 to 3 feet tall and 3 to 4 feet wide in managed landscapes. Left completely untrimmed over many years, it can eventually reach 4 to 7 feet tall.

This is a remarkably adaptable evergreen shrub. It tolerates dry sandy conditions, loam, heavy clay, and even extended periods of flooding or poor drainage. Once established, it possesses high drought tolerance.
