Rhododendron austrinum 'Earl’s Gold' is a selection of the native Florida azalea featuring fragrant, sunny yellow-to-orange-gold flowers that was discovered by Earl Sommerville of Marietta, GA.

Earl's Gold grows 7-8' tall and 4-6' wide, and is considered more compact than the wild species.

This azalea grows well in dappled shade, partial shade, or morning sun with afternoon shade.  It prefers acidic, rich, and well-draining soil with regular even moisture.

The flowers have a sweet honeysuckle-like scent that will attract bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds.
