Rhus aromatica 'Gro-Low' (commonly known as Gro-Low Fragrant Sumac) is a tough, fast-growing, deciduous native shrub widely prized as an exceptionally durable groundcover. It is about half the height of the straight species, making it a favorite for handling challenging landscapes.

This species grows 1-3' tall and can stretch up to 6-8' wide.  It is known for its outstandingly long and brilliant autumn display of bright shades of orange, bright red, and purple.

This shrub grows best in full sun to partial shade and can handle dry, sandy, rocky, or clay soils.

Drought and Deer tolerant.

Host plant for the Red-banded Hairstreak, Luna Moth, Spring Azure and the Showy Emerald Moth.
