It is widely celebrated as one of the best summer-flowering shrubs for shaded landscapes, earning prestigious accolades like the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.
This shrub grows 6-12' tall and 8-15' wide and does well in partial shade to full shade.  It can tolerate full sun if the soil is kept consistently moist.
