Creek Sedge-is a semi-evergreen Sedge in warm climates, thrives in shaded sites with deep moist soil or in good garden soil. Plants will tolerate sun but may need some irrigation during summer. Sedges are important for controlling water flow across your landscape and are amazing green mulches. Creek Sedge is a great native substitute for the popular non-native groundcovers Liriope muscari and Ophiopogon japonicus.
Creek Sedge is a host plant for some Skipper Butterflies and the seeds are eaten by turtle.
